A Different Relationship with Pain
Pain is complex. Our experience of pain can be influenced by the body, nervous system, breath, thoughts, emotions, relationships, environment and the experiences we carry with us.
This small-group program offers an opportunity to explore your experience of pain through the lens of yoga therapy and the Koshas ~ a whole-person framework encompassing body, breath and energy, mind and emotions, inner awareness and connection.
Together, we’ll explore practical ways to understand your pain, recognise your own baseline, build capacity and develop a personal toolkit of practices that can support you in everyday life.
Who is this for?
This series is suitable for people experiencing:
- Persistent or chronic pain
- Arthritis and joint pain
- Fibromyalgia
- Back, neck or shoulder pain
- Persistent pain following injury or surgery
- Pain associated with stress, anxiety or nervous system dysregulation
- Reduced mobility or fear of movement
No previous yoga experience is necessary. All practices can be adapted for different bodies and abilities, with chair and floor-based options available.
What to Expect
Before the program begins, you’ll complete a confidential client intake form and have a short phone consultation with Sarah. This allows us to better understand your health history, current challenges, and personal goals, ensuring the program is tailored as closely as possible to your needs. Where appropriate, clearance from your GP or other healthcare provider may be requested.
Over four weeks, we’ll meet in a small, supportive group for 90-minute sessions. All equipment is provided, including mats, bolsters, blankets, blocks and chairs, so you can practise in comfort regardless of your mobility or experience.
You’ll also receive ongoing email support throughout the program, giving you the opportunity to ask questions or seek guidance between sessions.
Depending on the needs of the group, you’ll be invited to develop a short daily home practice and reflective journal. These simple practices are designed to help you integrate what you learn into everyday life and build sustainable habits. At the beginning of each session, we’ll spend time reflecting on your experiences, celebrating successes, exploring challenges, and making adjustments where needed.
Above all, this program is about meeting you where you are. Together, we’ll create the conditions for your body and nervous system to feel supported, helping you move towards greater ease, resilience, confidence, and possibility, at a pace that feels safe and sustainable for you
